Kimberley Terry (Potts) Stocke passed away after months of courageously battling illness and went to be with God on September 4, 2024, at the age of 64.
Terry was born in Pensacola, FL on January 15, 1960, the daughter of Jimmie Frank Potts Sr. and Sandra Lea (Isaacson) Floda. She graduated in 1978 from Tate High School, Pensacola Florida.
Terry married Bill in 1992 and began her almost thirty-year adventure as a military and civil service spouse, which she welcomed with a spirit of service. She made friends wherever they lived. Terry earned her Certified Professional Coders (CPC) designation and prior to retirement supervised a large division for a medical group.
Terry enjoyed cooking, painting and making wreaths, decorating her home with her creations and gifting several special pieces to her family members. Terry loved the outdoors, traveling, camping and growing things. She made excellent bread and canned vegetables from her garden.
Terry liked sharing the bounty with family and friends. She was fiercely competitive with time spent during holidays and visits playing rousing games of cards, bocce ball or corn hole. Terry was an enthusiastic sports fan and would never miss watching her teams play football or basketball, especially Alabama.
After retirement and now living in Opp, AL Terry became a beloved member of Westview Baptist Church. She was passionate about helping people in her community volunteering with Meals of Love and had many friends in the organization.
Terry is preceded in death by her father, Jimmie Frank Potts, Sr., her niece and nephew Allison Hodge and Carl Hall, her stepbrothers Tony Floda, Chris Floda and Vincent Floda, and her sisterin-law Janet Stocke Carver. She is survived by her husband William “Bill” Russell Stocke Jr and her beloved four legged companions Scout and Gracie; Mother Sandra Floda (Jerry), brother Jimmie F. Potts, Jr. (Lori) of Pensacola, FL; sister Belinda Wallace (Lance) of Mountain Home, AR; sisters-in-law Martha Young (Billy dec.) Brandon, MS; and Barbara Boone (Bill) of Mobile, AL; nephews Jimmie “Trey” Potts (Kelsey), Justin Potts (Brooklyn), and Dwayne West. Nieces Tabitha Sondel (Joshua), Jenna Smith (Jordan), Kimberly Young, Lea Ann Guffey (Chris), Julia Wolf (Andrew), and Jacqueline Maynard. Great nephews and nieces Hudson and Gentry Potts (Trey); Havyn Potts (Justin), Audrey and Maverick Sondel (Tabitha), Ally and Jase Smith (Jenna), Tanner and Ali Wolf (Julia), and Jordan and Abbie Maynard (Jacqueline).
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 27, 2024, at Westview Baptist Church, 1404 N. Main St., Opp, AL 36467. A bereavement luncheon will follow the service. Terry will be interred in a private ceremony at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetary at Spanish Fort, Alabama.
