Lillian Margaret Johnson September 6, 1951 – January 7, 2025
Lillian Margaret Johnson was born on September 6, 1951 in Bristol, England and passed away at 73 years old on January 7, 2025 in Pensacola, Florida.
She is survived by her sister Carol Hale, brother Peter Wheeler, both of England, her children Nicholas (Kari) Johnson of Pensacola, Florida and Michael Johnson of Manchester, New Hampshire and her grandchildren Brycen, Braden, Brooke, Scotty, and Spencer Johnson, as well as many stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death is her husband Andrew Johnson, loved one Gerald Holt, and siblings Jenny, Gwen, and John.
Lillian met and married her husband, Andrew Johnson, in Nairobi, Kenya Africa where they raised their sons Nicholas and Michael for many years before moving to Mojave, California. While there, she was heavily involved in her sons’ Boy Scouts of America adventures, becoming the first woman assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 41. She made history as one of the first women, along with three others, inducted into the Rosamond Kiwanis Club in 1988 after 33 years of being a male only organization.
Lillian loved to travel. While in Africa, she enjoyed riding British show horses. Always the life of the party, she valued her friends and family immensely. She also spent many years as a nanny and caretaker to children in different parts of the United States, to include Nevada, California, and New Hampshire. All of whom became a part of her family.
She fiercely and unapologetically lifted the needs of her family above her own, constantly making sacrifices in the care of her husband and children. She was cut from an old cloth that experienced the early days of post-World War II England. Her early childhood was rough, but she shared many fond memories of time spent with her five siblings, as they were immensely close. Lillian’s early life is undoubtedly responsible for developing her nurturing soul, and vibrant outlook on life that would serve her as a steadfast mother, wife, and friend.
